Most patients do not arrive at Parkland in an ambulance – they walk in for a visit to see their physician. These are ambulatory patients who go to one of Parkland's specialty clinics where they see the same group of nurses and the same physicians who provide quality health care in a calm, professional setting.

Several years ago, this same concept was moved to underserved areas in Dallas County through Parkland's Community Oriented Primary Care health centers. Now individuals receive primary and preventive health care at their neighborhood health center. Personalized health care. Close to home. What an idea!
