Parkland’s social crusade is not limited to providing education regarding grave illness. By partnering with the Metro Dallas Homeless Alliance, Parkland and the "Blanket Dallas Drive” provides coats, hats, mittens, sweaters and blankets to the less fortunate. Parkland’s mission to aid all Dallas County residents continues as essential needs are met for the city’s 5,000 homeless. In that spirit, the nationally recognized Homeless Outreach Medical Services initiative provides a mobile doctor’s office to those with no other access to medical care. The result is not only a morally sound gesture, but a fiscally responsible one as well – nipping many health issues well before they become worthy of expensive hospitalization.
