You can play a valuable part in the Victim Intervention Program/Rape Crisis services for victims of sexual assault, child abuse and family violence by making a donation. Donations play a vital role in helping VIP/Rape Crisis maintain services for victims. There are several ways you can help support the programs:
Financial contributions
Financial contributions is vital for our programs and helps us expand to serve more victims or to create new programs. Donations can be made out to:
Parkland Foundation
2777 N. Stemmons Freeway
Suite 1700
Dallas, TX 75207
Please write "VIP/Rape Crisis" on the memo line of the check.
Memorial gifts
If you want to make a donation in the name of someone, please write a letter explaining in whose name you are making the donation and provide an address if you would like to have an acknowledgement letter sent to that person or family.
Resources for sexual assault victims
Clothing and person items can be very helpful for sexual assault victims whose clothing is often collected for evidence. Call 214.590.2926 if you are interested in this type of donation.
Stuffed animals
Children and teens who come to the Crisis Support Center for the first time are given a stuffed animal to take home with them. Some of the adult clients also like to have something to hold that comforts them. We ask that toys be new and no taller than 18 inches high (e.g. Beanie Babies or small stuffed animals). Contact 214.590.2926 for more information.
Volunteers
Volunteers work closely with advocates who go into the hospital to assist victims of sexual assault, and also help with the national on-line hotline for sexual assault victims sponsored by RAINN (Rape, Abuse, & Incest National Network). To prepare volunteers for this specialized work, a 30 hour training program is presented several times a year. For more information call 214.590.2926.
Thank you from all of the victims whose lives are improved through timely and sensitive advocacy and counseling.
The services of licensed counselors and experienced staff are free to Dallas County residents.
