Youth Family

In 1994, Parkland joined the Dallas Independent School District to help with health care facilities for school-aged children and their families, located on various school campuses. The school-based clinics are a way for children, who may not have a primary care doctor, to receive care.

These clinics are set up to give students and their families a comfortable and familiar atmosphere to come to when they are sick. Working closely with the school nurse, children are able to receive medical attention and antibiotics from the clinics to keep them well and in school.

Parkland has a Youth & Family Center near you. Our health centers are located throughout Dallas County and typically serve ages 2-30 years of age. Some clinics also treat newborns and older adults as well.

Services and programs provided to patients include: Acute Care, Management of Chronic Illness (such as Asthma, Obesity, Diabetes, etc.), Physicals, Immunizations, Specialty Care Referrals, STD and HIV Testing, Health Education, Class D Pharmacy, DPS programs, Family Therapy, Family Planning, MHMR and Social Work.
