Psychiatry Residency The 12-month program is designed to lead the resident through a variety of monthly and longitudinal practice experiences. This is a co-residency between Parkland Health & Hospital System and Texas Tech UHSC School of Pharmacy, with clinical sites at the Dallas Veterans Administration, the Dallas County Jail and Parkland Health & Hospital System. By the end of the program, the resident should feel competent practicing in inpatient and outpatient settings involving psychiatric pharmacotherapy. The residency includes core rotations that are chosen to establish a strong base in psychiatric and neuropsychiatric disorders (with electives offered in Geriatric Psychiatry, Pediatric Psychiatry, Home Base Psychiatric Care, Pain Clinic, HIV Clinic, Substance Abuse). Application Process
On-Site Interviews On-site interviews are required for those pursuing the Psychiatry Residency. Our on-site interview process at the Dallas County Jail, Dallas Veterans Administration, and Parkland begins at 8:00 a.m. and concludes around 4:30 p.m. As part of the interview process, we are asking our candidates to prepare a 30 minute presentation for members of our interview team. For more information regarding the Psychiatry Residency, please email Jennifer Nelson or call 214.653.2671.
