All Day Event
Parkland will be providing a variety of health screenings as well as information about Parkland insurance and CHIP/Medicaid.
KwanzaaFest, a 501(c) 3 organization, and its contributions to the north Texas communities it has served for the past 24 years have been plentiful and varied. The annual festival that hosts more than 50,000 people during a two-day event (the second weekend in December) at Fair Park in Dallas, Texas, has become a staple of substantive family friendly activities and services needed by the community. KwanzaaFest has maintained its FREE admission to the public, thanks to our vast number of sponsors.

KwanzaaFest HealthFest addresses the needs of both the underinsured and uninsured through offering free humanitarian health services. KwanzaaFest, Inc. strategically plans the annual KwanzaaFest event to be held in a U.S. Department of Health and Human Services identified Medically Underserved Area and Health Care Professional Shortage Area. Through creative partnerships, KwanzaaFest HealthFest provides effective and efficient linkages to critical health services and sustainable health care.
Beat Obesity 5K Walk/Run
This year’s Beat Obesity 5K Walk/Run will take place on Saturday morning, December 13, 2014. This is a remarkable occasion to inspire and be inspired by hundreds of individuals who are walking and/or running to increase awareness about the health related problems associated with obesity.
The Beat Obesity 5K Walk/Run engages people of all ages to run competitively or walk 3.1 miles at their own pace through the historic grounds of Fair Park in Dallas, Texas.
During the walk/run events, fitness experts conduct a warm-up/aerobic workout session and provide valuable information on the importance of healthy lifestyle habits to reduce and prevent obesity.
