The kitchen at new Parkland hospital is almost complete, measuring nearly 13,000 square feet.
“I’ve given Parkland chefs a tour of the new kitchen space,” said Marques Roberts, an assistant project manager with BARA, the construction partners building new Parkland. “I’ve seen their reaction –they’re impressed with how big it is.”
One one of the kitchen’s great new features is more space for dry food storage. Storage of dry goods in the current kitchen is limited, making it a challenge to work and serve customers efficiently. Now there is nearly twice the space for dry food storage, Marques said.
According to Marques, the most welcomed improvement, however, has been access to natural light.
“They were really excited about the windows in their kitchen,” he added.
