Has proven track record in inclusion, organizational development
Ildemaro Gonzalez has joined Parkland Health & Hospital System as Vice President and Chief Diversity Officer.
In his new role, Gonzalez will develop and oversee programs, services and initiatives designed to enhance the diversity of Parkland’s workforce, vendor community and participation in civic and community organizations. He also will serve as a liaison and develop partnerships within the community to promote diversity and inclusion within the health system. “I am honored to be joining the Parkland family and playing a contributing role in ensuring that we provide culturally competent care toward improving the health outcomes of our patients,” Gonzalez said.

His background and experience will help guide Parkland as we explore new and better ways of engaging the increasingly diverse patient population of Dallas County,” said Jim Dunn, PhD, Parkland’s Executive Vice President and Chief Talent Officer. “Parkland recognizes diversity and cultural competency are key elements in our region’s ever-changing healthcare landscape. Ildemaro’s oversight of these areas will be important to Parkland’s future success in achieving our strategic diversity and inclusion goals.”
Gonzalez comes to Parkland from Newell Rubbermaid where he most recently served as the Global Director of Inclusion and Philanthropy. While at Newell Rubbermaid, he also served as Senior Manager, Learning & Development, for the company’s Latin American operations, as well as its Senior Manager of Inclusion and Diversity. Prior to his work with Newell Rubbermaid, Gonzalez worked for the American Cancer Society in Atlanta. There he served as Managing Director of the Talent Solution Center and Managing Director of Diversity Strategy, as well as Director of Recruitment and Retention and Manager of Inclusion and Organizational Development.
Gonzalez holds a Master of Business Administration in Management from Georgia State University in Atlanta, and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Universidad Católica Andrés Bello in Venezuela. Additionally, he holds both Global (GPHR) and Senior (SPHR) Professional in Human Resources designations through the Society of Human Resource Management.
