Construction workers are laying down a decorative and highly durable and Terrazzo flooring in the cafeteria. Terrazzo is a composite material made out of different types of epoxy, glass and colored chips.
“When completed it gives a great architectural finish,” says Craig Williams, Project Controls Manager for BARA, the construction partner for the new Parkland construction project.
Craig says it’s common to see a well-kept Terrazzo floor in public buildings, like high schools, that are more than 50 years old.
Installation of flooring underscores just how close workers are to finishing the project. Construction of the new Parkland is expected to be completed in August, with a grand opening slated for later in 2015.
