Parkland Community Health Plan (PCHP) is an integral part of Parkland Health. PCHP was started by Parkland in 1999 as a managed care organization designed to connect the community’s uninsured population to programs and services designed specifically for them, including Texas Medicaid STAR and the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP).*
PCHP aims to change the way communities think about healthcare by connecting people to meaningful health and wellness experiences. As part of the network, members can access convenient, affordable healthcare and trust that they have a place to turn for safe, quality healthcare services for themselves and their families.
In partnership with Parkland Health & Hospital System, PCHP works to address community needs by providing care management programs and offering value-added services that promote healthy lifestyles for its members.
PCHP offers these program services:
- Parkland HEALTHfirst (STAR)
- Parkland KIDSfirst (CHIP/CHIP Perinate)
Plan members can seek care at more than 6,000 area doctors and specialists, including more than 40 hospitals and urgent care centers. PCHP’s service area covers Dallas, Collin, Ellis, Hunt, Kaufman, Navarro and Rockwall counties.
