The Putting the Care in Career program was launched spring 2014 from a need to expose students to job opportunities in health care. Working with the Dallas Independent School District administration, the Parkland Speakers Bureau specially developed age-specific presentations for elementary, middle and high school students, to cover a wide range of health care careers – from hospital billing to pharmacy. With the support of committed Parkland staff, who volunteer with the Putting the Care in Career program, we visited 54 DISD schools.
If you would like a member of the Putting the Care in Career program to present to your school, please fill out the Putting the Care in Career application.
Our Back to school handouts focus on specific ways parents can help their children live a healthier lifestyle with tips on illness, physical education, hand hygiene and balanced diets. Each printable handout also includes information about resources from Parkland that students can use.
