Not getting enough sleep can cause many chronic diseases and conditions like diabetes, heart disease, obesity, and depression.
How much sleep you need depends on your age. For example, it’s recommended a toddler gets between 11 -14 hours of sleep per day. Adults are recommended to get 7 or more hours per night.
Some sleep habits that can improve your sleep health include:
•Be consistent. Go to bed at the same time every night and wake up at the same time.
•Make sure your bedroom is dark, quiet, and comfortable.
•Turn off all electronic devices.
•Avoid big meals, caffeine, and alcohol before bedtime.
•Make sure you worked out that day. Exercise can help you fall asleep more easily at night.
