Testing is available across North Texas. Below is testing information for Parkland patients as well as other locations for anyone who might need it.
Testing for Parkland Patients
Parkland offers COVID-19 testing by appointment only for current Parkland patients who meet the medically necessary criteria with a Parkland physician’s order. Parkland patients can contact the COVID-19 Patient Line at 214-590-8060, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Unscheduled, drop-in appointments for the general public will not be available at this time. Please do not come to the Emergency Room or Urgent Care Emergency Center for a testing appointment. First responders and healthcare workers can also be tested at Parkland’s main campus and should call Parkland COVID-19 Patient Line at 214-590-8060, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The cost of a COVID-19 diagnostic test at Parkland is $140 (CPT code 87635). Parkland may offer a charity adjustment for self-pay individuals deciding to pay out of pocket.

Criteria for testing sites
- Testing is open to anyone who is over the age of 5 with or without symptoms and lives within the boundaries of the City of Dallas or Dallas County.
Exceptions to the residency requirement
- First responders, DART drivers, healthcare workers, and all CISA essential workers; must have a work ID and must work in Dallas County/City of Dallas.
- City of Dallas and Dallas County employees; must provide a valid work ID.
If you are experiencing severe symptoms like those listed below, please proceed to the nearest hospital emergency room. Waiting at a testing facility when experiencing these symptoms could be dangerous:
- Trouble breathing
- Ongoing pain or pressure in your chest
- Shaking chills
- New confusion
- Difficulty staying awake
- Dizziness or feeling faint
- Bluish lips or face
