The Dallas County Hospital District, doing business as Parkland Health & Hospital System, is governed by a seven-member Board of Managers appointed by the Dallas County Commissioners Court. The Board is responsible for governing policies and also has budgetary oversight for the hospital district.
The Board plays an active part in ensuring Parkland maintains the highest possible level of quality and safety and they are currently overseeing the construction of a new, state-of-the-art hospital that will help improve health care outcomes for our patients.
Members of the Board of Managers are appointed for two-year terms. Five members of the Board are selected by individual Court officials, while the remaining two serve in an at-large capacity.
Board members meet the fourth Tuesday of each month at Parkland Memorial Hospital. Board members do not receive compensation for their service.
